Yes, drilling in an expensive instrument makes me nervous, too. You could try the cheapo version. No drilling, no screws, just adhesive tape:

QRS has one available, but drilling the hole in the keybed of a Beckstein makes me a little nervous!

Get the mechanism and hardware from Yamaha or Kawai. (I've forgotten which one will not sell it to you.<G>) You will need to put some counter-weight on the fallboard to make it work correctly
