Hi to everyone who responded. Thanks so much. The only set screws I'm finding are these two philips head screws that are attached to this small cylindar thing. There are two cylindars total I tried to insert them into the block but the block doesn't have a deep enough hole for the screw shank to go into. Is it possible that these are an allen type of set up like the hammer butt gig has that I just tighten with an allen wrench? I'm going to try that. thanks again Marshall Marshall Gisondi Piano Technician Marshall's Piano Service pianotune05 at hotmail.com 215-510-9400 Graduate of The School of Piano Technology for the Blind www.pianotuningschool.org Vancouver, WA From: pianotech-request at ptg.org Subject: pianotech Digest, Vol 12, Issue 197 To: pianotech at ptg.org Date: Sat, 24 Oct 2009 19:32:16 -0600 Send pianotech mailing list submissions to pianotech at ptg.org To subscribe or unsubscribe via the World Wide Web, visit http://ptg.org/mailman/listinfo/pianotech or, via email, send a message with subject or body 'help' to pianotech-request at ptg.org You can reach the person managing the list at pianotech-owner at ptg.org When replying, please edit your Subject line so it is more specific than "Re: Contents of pianotech digest..." --Forwarded Message Attachment-- From: mark at schecterpiano.com To: pianotech at ptg.org Date: Sat, 24 Oct 2009 17:27:11 -0700 Subject: Re: [pianotech] Fwd: absolutely unbelievable! all you music lovers... Yes, farm equipment! It took the team a combined 13,029 hours of set-up, alignment, calibration, and tuning before filming this video but as you can see it was WELL worth the effort. I'm trying to figure out how to put my action cradle together. The metal legs go into the holes on that solid piece where the cylindar that clamps the action rests. Are the legs suposed to scew in or just sit in the hoes. Turning them to tighten doesn't bear any results. They sit in there so loose that I'm afraid the action won't be secure when I head out Tuesday to do a repair hopefully a quick one. Any ideas on how to secure the legs? I found that the screws were hard to work with, being so small. So I substituted Allen screws, and use an Allen wrench.
