Marshall, The main part you are talking about has a thumb screw for each leg. You have to turn them all the way out to get the leg in and then you can tighten it. I'm trying to figure out how to put my action cradle together. The metal legs go into the holes on that solid piece where the cylindar that clamps the action rests. Are the legs suposed to scew in or just sit in the hoes. Turning them to tighten doesn't bear any results. They sit in there so loose that I'm afraid the action won't be secure when I head out Tuesday to do a repair hopefully a quick one. Any ideas on how to secure the legs?
