Thanks Ron, I had been wondering how many thou. smaller for the first pass. As I said previously, I had always used a stream of air from the compressor. Sounds like your way is more forgiving if the speed of feed changes. Any recommendation, on the speed of the drill press? Drill the second pass to the size that gives you a torque level you like in the block you use. Ron N
