List, Any suggestions please: 1. I have recently taken over tuning of a Yamaha C3, with unstable tuning in some notes of high tenor/low treble. Several broken (assume??) strings had been replaced. The plate bushings seem to have migrated up the tuning pin. Looks very strange, making it difficult to apply CA. 2. Yesterday I replaced a broken treble string pair. Plate bushing migrated out with the pin when backing out, but did not go down when pulling up pitch. Hench bushing is high on pin, almost touching coil. Tuning is not stable. I have not had this problem on Upright pianos with plate bushings. What is going on? How can I rectify this situation? Bruce Browning The Piano Tuner.
