[pianotech] Archives search

That's very good to know! I didn't even know that was there. And the date thing below is also a big help.

I hope all you "computer geeks" out there don't think I'm stupid. I'm just ignorant. And unless you're from Texas those words have different meanings. (I'm from Texas so I can say that <G>)

Or go to the ptg.org<http://ptg.org> home page, lower right corner is a text window to enter a search. It simply formats your request into a Google search.

I just learned something very sweet from Jim Ialeggio's response... if you are looking for a post about impedance that you know was posted (e.g.) last year, you can enter a Google search for:
site:ptg.org/pipermail/pianotech.php/2008<http://ptg.org/pipermail/pianotech.php/2008> driving fluid
or if you know it was posted in December of 2008:
site:ptg.org/pipermail/pianotech.php/2008-December<http://ptg.org/pipermail/pianotech.php/2008-December> driving fluid

Often I try to find something that I remember reading in the past year, but searching the entire archives results in hundreds of hits from years ago, so this will be very useful. Thanks Jim!

All,

It seems like 95% of the topics here have been discussed before, and even this has been answered before, but... How do you search a specific topic in the archives w/o having to look through each month, of each year, etc....

For instance; Joe G. says he uses driving fluid (so do I) but Ron doesn't, and I want to look at past discussions of this. How is this done??? (Please be specific. Maybe use the driving fluid as an example.)

Thanks in advance.
