Oh, oh, oh........ please check out a book: _Oh, Yuck! The Encyclopedia of Everything Nasty._ It is an incredible fun read. But in the section on "ear wax" it has a paragraph on "by the way- if you turn your earphones up to sky high, you're gonna go deaf, so don't do it." It's a book every kid would love reading, so yucky, so fun, and so filled with lots of neat stuff. But the hearing thing would make sense because it's coming from a cool book, not from some fun-hating adult.
