I'm wondering if that problem existed as late as 1947? I'd like to know myself. As to the early side -I have some old Shank-flanges from an 1884 model A with the dreaded green junk. The repetitions were not affected. On the other side of the equation I don't remember seeing verdigris past 1930. If anyone will know my money is on Jack Wyatt. The worst case in my practice is an 1880 ish Knabe upright. Every center is oozing with the stuff. Rebuild is not an option for several reasons so every few years I try the treatment du jour and free things up-sort of - for awhile.
