James, I did check that builder out but none of the serial numbers match up with the NY company. For reference, I was looking at the top line company on p. 167 of the 12th edition of the Pierce Piano Atlas. I suspect this piano was from the 3rd business on this page that has the "star" next to their name. But as there is no other information, all I have is the handwritten date in pencil on the action from 1925 and the owner's recollection of it being made around 1931. I don't think this piano has ever been rebuilt since original manufacture. The only work they had done was refinishing the case, but they did absolutely no work on the insides.
