So what does the cord anchor to? I assume the spring anchor to the jack somewhere, and the cord somehow ties it to the hammer butt? When the cord is intact the spring runs upward and parallel to the jack. Thanks for the picture, Tom D. Bell's are usually very nice pianos. I'm working on one right now. It's has the Illimitable Repeating Action. I've attached a picture of the jack with a slot in it. It's a real pain to repair but it does repeat much faster. Marc Lanthier One feature I did not notice until today. The jack has a hole in which a silk cord that is attached to the hammer flange engages a jack mounted spring. Clear as mud right? I'll try and get a picture.This seems to duplicate or perhaps augment the jack springs job. Tom D.
