To maintain let off with the button situated lower, you need
to either bolster the knuckle or reduce the height of the jack tender.

To keep the drop screw from bottoming out, bolster the knuckle or
lower the cushion on the end of the rep lever.

If the knuckles are not flat and bolstering is not possible then the
other remedies are needed. Attached photo shows alterations.
