[pianotech] How NOT to move a grand piano

Back when I was young and stupid, I use to move and tune 9 ft Hamburg Steinways for ProPiano.
At one time it was myself and Stacy. Stacy did security for Bill Graham and was a pretty big dude.
Board on the moving dolly. No dead lift from the floor for us. Stacy would lift the corner and I, the technician, would remove the leg. Both us brought it down to the board, by the way with a block under the end so it wouldn't tip down to the floor. Up and over onto its side, slide it tight, blankets and straps in roll it up to the lift bed, slide it on and up the lift bed and into the truck. the exact way we got it onto the truck is a little fuzzy, but we DID do it. Ok...so we were really stupid. Myself and 2 guys did tip a Hamburg over onto its lid at the Masonic Temple one night...Jeez, I don't miss those days...
