On the understring felt between the agraffe and the tuning 
pin, the drag is such that you can often move the pin a LONG 
way before you hear, or see on an ETD, that the pitch in the 
speaking length has changed. The problem is that you can't 
tell where the heck you actually are, which makes it pretty 
tough to  decide where to leave it. If you can minimize the 
friction between the agraffe and tuning pin, you have a better 
chance.
