By the way - why do you need to scream that it is an OVERDAMPER? Maybe they are not common in SoCal, but that in itself doesn't make them special instruments, really. Hundreds of German brands were producing overdampers around that era. And consider that Steingraeber (with respect) was not the same company a century ago that it is today - they made some very normal and unspectacular instruments way back when.
