David asked: "Should one take the tension off the band saw when it is not in use?" David, Never have my band saw "not in use"! However, makes sense, because the blade will develop a "wow" if left under tension for a long period of time. Much like the drive belt on my other tools. Ya have to let them run for a bit to get the "wow" out. Much less so with the "vibrationless" continuous link type belts I've been using. Hmmm?
