I downloaded and printed out the PDF for it, and it looks pretty sweet – individual capstans for lift, tray pivots on the same axis as the underlever flange, aluminum tray that will not warp, screw adjustable underlever springs. I’ve got a Steinwobbie B coming up a month or so that needs a new back action, and I am leaning towards ordering my first WNG back action Will Truitt From: pianotech-bounces at ptg.org [mailto:pianotech-bounces at ptg.org] On Behalf Of David Love Sent: Saturday, February 27, 2010 1:33 PM To: pianotech at ptg.org Subject: Re: [pianotech] Gluing Damper Felt Unless the tray is warped (which it often is) which means you’ll be setting the key lift timing different from one end to the other. I prefer to use the platform to gain uniform key timing and then shim the tray felt to get uniform pedal lift or better replace the tray felt with a set of capstans and put a piece of felt on the bottom of the lever itself. One of brass! Yet, I cannot do a better job of regulating the dampers than what I get when I use the tray itself to set the height of the underlevers. Takes no tools, and compensates for that micro wear from note to note.
