Mark I have also had mixed results with what they recommend. I don't care for their procedure either. There is one water-dispersed contact adhesive that works really well. 3M Fastbond Contact adhesive 30-NF It comes in green and white, naturally you'll want the white. I do a lot of Vagias Keytops as well as Pianotek's German tops and have never had a failed glue joint with this stuff. I think it's as strong as solvent based CA, with all the benefits of a water based product, i.e. easy clean up, no odor, etc. Here's my procedure: 1. Surface keys 2. lay out tops upside down 3. apply glue to key then Keytops then a second coat to the keys (I use a 1" foam brush) 4. let dry, a fan helps if it's humid, but generally like most water based products it dries within half an hour. 5. Assemble and apply clamping pressure to set the bond. I have a quick release vise with large wooden jaws (cork lined) and do 2 keys at a time which goes quickly. I am not a fan of contact cement, but if it is the only adhesive that will yield reliable results with this material I will reluctantly go that route. Any feedback will be appreciated...
