[pianotech] Keydip on Steinway pianos

Wesley, if you are using the Piano Action Handbook, the information on pages
1.33 and 1.34 for Key Dip is a bit confusing.  The entries of .400 and .390
are NOT millimeters but inches.  0.400 inches translates to 10.16 mm while
0.390 inches translates to 9.9 mm.  0.420 mm is 10.668 mm.  These entries
are all around 7/16" - more or less.

Why is the keydip greater for Steinway S, M, and L pianos than for Steinway
B and D pianos?  The keydip for the B and D is 390mm, while the keydip for
the S, M, and L is 420 mm.
