Plastic?  I wonder about trying on polyester to get tape goo as well? Or would that mess up the finish.  I'll try it if you try it! :>)

It shouldn't mess up a polyester finish, since that's basically a form of plastic.

Just on a whim, I tried a little Protek CLP on some gummy tape residue on piano keys. It worked like a charm! Very handy.
