Rob,
I have encounter situations were the music racks were either missing or
broken and from instruments I have dismantled (electronic organs), I have,
"modified" the attachment. The original rack did not pivot and apparently
someone, knowing that other pianos they saw did, tried to "pivot" the music
rack and broke it off. I have seen repaired and repaired a couple of racks
like that on the Howard.

I would pull the screws still visible and install a rack with the end
"hinges".

Subject: [pianotech] 1970 Baldwin Howard Music Desk

Greetings,

I recently acquired a 1970 Baldwin Howard (for $20!) in very good condition
for what it is. However, it's missing the music desk. See the photo below.
The previous owner says its been missing for as long as she can remember.

Does anyone have a spare music desk for this model they might be willing to
sell or know where I might find one? Maybe off an otherwise piece of junk
that still has a nice music desk. I've attached a photo to see the specific
wood tone.

Feel free to contact me off list if you have something that may work.

Thanks,

Rob McCall
