We have much better scaling tools now than they did 150 years 
ago, but they still aren't critical enough to make any real 
difference in accommodating temperament selection. It's just 
not done at that fine a resolution.

If most of what we do was as critical as some of us would like 
to imply, most of us wouldn't be able to meet the functional 
criteria to stay in business at all.
