The punches have mostly been used for player work but also for making leather
punchings for lyre pedal, rod and trapwork shims. I buy the standard 
supply house
felt, paper and card punchings for key pins.

Last month, I made custom front rail punchings for a melodion
to replace the two strips of felt.
