Slightly off topic,
I had a customer that had an old upright that was beyond hope, he bought a
new piano from the store I do work for.
He was the county recycling director, so as an object lesson for his kids,
he decided to recycle the old piano. He called me for instructions on how to
do it safely & he & his kids took it apart saving some of the wood for
projects around the house, recycling the strings & plate, saving the keys
for kindling in the fireplace.

Under the balance rail they found, being used as a shim, a ticket for a 1902
Opera! They used some of the wood from the piano to fashion a frame and
framed it, hanging it above the new piano.
