  To check the balance hole height, insert a wire alongside
  the pin until it stops at the 'top' of the b/h. Hold your thumb
  nail on the wire at the button surface. Remove the wire and
  place the wire aside an end key to gage the b/h height.


  You could also measure the height of the key at the button
  and subtract the length of your wire gage.
