Marshall, I agree with David. A brace was the perfect, and perhaps only intelligent tool in the forties! You can buy flat screwdriver blades for your socket wrench, and while you are at it, dig up a large Phillips bit or even a torx for that one overly brilliant manufacturer. If you really want to be a tool ninja, get some air tools to do it. I've been dismantling pianos for nearly 40 years and I've never had one. A good 3/8" or ½" socket wrench and an extension long enough to get the wrench handle over the rim of the piano is IMHO a better tool for that job. You can get far more leverage on the screws & bolts than you can with a brace. dp David M. Will this work for the bolts as well? Does anyone here have one they can e-mail a picture of, and where could I find a carpenters brace? Sears, Lowes, Home Depot don't sell one. I could try our local hardware store, but I"m also trying to be price conscious. thanks everyone Marshall Marshall Gisondi Piano Technician Marshall's Piano Service pianotune05 at hotmail.com 215-510-9400 www.phillytuner.com Graduate of The School of Piano Technology for the Blind www.pianotuningschool.org Vancouver, WA -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The New Busy is not the old busy.
