I agree, Joe,

The "true" Vise Grip company was in Nebraska and couldn't stay open so 
now, the "rice-grips" are made in China. Those little grips should be 
about a buck.  I bet they won't last long either.

Jim,
I can see these CHEAP knock-offs being used for the mass loading thingee 
or perhaps holding the clutch linkage of your 1958 International Truck, 
but to use those pieces of junk for anything else would be a real 
travesty. IMHO, they are overpriced @$2 each. Just my take on that. BTW 
Visegrip is a copyrighted name and should not be used in a generic sense. 
Those thingees are Locking Pliers or some such<G> Just fulfilling my 
Captain's duties.<G>
