Otherwise, I use a rotary knife and a straight edge.

And when you use a straight edge, glue some felt to one side of it, so that it grabs the felt you're cutting.

What are you doing with the felt.
If you are rebushing, it should be ripped.
For damper felts, the Spurlock guide and a felt knife.
Backchecks a guillotine type.
Otherwise, I use a rotary knife and a straight edge.
