Ron, I know and hear the phenomenon you're referring to. And, as you stated, it is a too rare encounter. Bloom and swell are good words but I call it sing. Terrific voicing is a must but, I believe that this sing, swell, bloom (whatever) of the tone comes from a hard working, efficient and sensitive soundboard.
