Doesn't he have the original? If so, he has the scale.

John Dewey would be the guy to go to first if you don't want to mess 
with it. He can tell you where to go if he doesn't want to either. <G> I 
understand Jim Ialeggio is tooling up to do this, and is working with 
John to get set up.

DIY is second option, or first if you're interested in an educational 
experience. Depending on how badly the old rails are split, they can 
make a "just fine" drill guide for the new rails with some masking tape, 
patience, and simple jigging.

A little single malt (the evening before), some thoughtful planning, and 
a few brief moments of pure terror makes for an interesting day, a 
successful fix, and a few scars to show off to the other kids.
