I've heard the same thing that Roger has heard, the Disklavier units are only available with a new (Yamaha) piano attached to it. I suppose that if, for whatever reason, one "came across" a lonely, "un-attached" unit, it COULD be retrofitted, but good luck getting Yamaha to sell you one.
