Yes, and according to the man I spoke to at

this is to be expected from a 'pultruded' tube.  Pultrusion is the 
cheapest way to produce a CF tube but not necessarily the best for 
out purposes.  I must say I am very wary whenever I hear mention of 
carbon fibre and careful to look at the details.  The firm I 
mentioned uses the 'roll-wrapping' process, and the differences are
