Hmm, maybe you aren't talking about actions, but my experience is vastly different. Many of the 60's actions are some of the abominable creations I have seen in pianos. Aside from the Teflon mistakes, I have seen many , if not most, with horrible geometry, poorly made parts, alignment issues that the poor tech in a shop has to tear hair out about, etc. But the belly work was generally really good.
