[pianotech] Compressor and gun?

If you do any level of rebuilding or extensive repairs....the compressor is essential. The nail gun ( assuming that's what you were referring to), is not...unless of course you are building jigs to speeding up the assembly process.
Pneumatic tools are extremely nice to work with. Plus they last dramatically longer than most electric driven tools which makes them more cost efficient.
The most useful pneumatic tools are the sanders, grinders, palm nailers( for driving tuning pins), and pressured air to clear dust and debris.

How useful do you find it, for piano wiork, to have an air compressor and gun, and what tasks do you use it for?

  Best regards,

  David.
