For me, I use it to "blow out" the years of dust and dirt of upright player piano actions. Since these have the players, 
the piano actions virtually never get cleaned out. If you used brushes, you would be moving the hammer and damper springs.

Also, on pump organs, blowing out the reed cells after the reeds have been taken out.
