'sorry 'bout that last. It was (poorly) sent from an Ipad, with which I have no experience: so I saw a rechargeable-battery palm-nailer at Sears ( on sale at $59.95 ) and wondered if anyone had tried one of these for tuning pins. I imagine that it may be too light-duty, but the abscence of a hose makes it sound intriguing for this use. Perhaps just getting a cone-shaped grinding stone fora drill ( like I see at Lowe's) and making the tip of the nailer more concave would do? Has anyone battery poered type Sears now sells? ________________________________ From: Ron Nossaman <rnossaman at cox.net>; To: <pianotech at ptg.org>; Subject: Re: [pianotech] palm nailers? I consider it a tradeoff for the cumulative pain of swinging my four pound single jack, and a fair trade at that. The flattened pin top doesn't affect function or hammer tip fit, so is purely cosmetic. Fitting a punch with a domed "socket" to the palm nailer should do it, but I really haven't thought it worth the trouble for the cosmetics.
