Bill Spurlock gives an excellent explanation of the damper upstop rail and
presents a very easy and precise method of adjusting it. It's in a booklet
called Technical Lesson Plans 20-35: Grand Regulation. I think you can
purchase it from the PTG office. It’s a booklet worth owning since it is
filled with great information about all aspects of grand regulation.

Subject: [pianotech] Young Chang damper upstop rail

List:

I need to adjust a Young Chang (circa 1991) Damper Upstop Rail that has
apparently slipped a bit and is allowing the dampers to rise between ¼ and ½
inch. Can anyone give me some information on how to adjust the rail or
provide me with a place to look for information on the procedure. Any help
at all will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Tom
