No, it's not, but there are other approaches. A rabbeting bit with a 
appropriately sized bearing guide will take off most of the depth of one 
side in one pass. A drum sander, either in a drill press or a dedicated 
machine, will make quick work of the rest and you can contour the dogleg 
at that time too.
