[pianotech] squeegee face, slightly OT

The air in Hawaii is always filled with tiny particles of dust. Sometimes it's VOG, volcanic dust from the Kilauea volcano on the Big Island, especially when the wind comes from the Southeast. But other times it's red volcanic dust picked up from the farm fields around my house.

So instead of cleaning my windows with the car window washer, I bought a bucket and squeegee like at the gas station, and clean the car windows every morning before I take off for my first appointment.

But now. after doing this for about 3 years, the squeegee is leaving streaks on the window, as if the face is rough. I don't know what caused this, but more importantly, how can I re-face the edge of the squeegee? Or should not be so cheap and buy a new one?
