Much thanks for the enlightenment! I had no idea. I suspect that Typesetters and such know this stuff, but, until now, I did not.
Now, what the hell do I do with it?!!<G> I know: Don't use Serifs!<G>
BTW, I've added some more "tweaking". (No not Tweeting!!!)

I didn't know either so I looked it up. Just got done reading about it when you posted.

Basically the serif is the little embellishments on the edges of letters, like at the top and bottom of a capital "I".  Now that I type that....this font is Arial and has no serifs....therefore it's Sans Serif, which I learned means "without serifs".  Interesting!

This font has serifs.  Here's an "I" with serifs.
This font is Sans Serif. Here's an "I" without serifs.

I'm not a fan of web fonts with serifs. Whenever I see a website with serif fonts, it always looks cluttered and uninviting. 


With books, yes to serifs. Web, no.

It does convey that, in my mind. And, that is exactly what I want it too. A
lot of these fancy smancy fonts, etc., tend to detract from the message
intended on a website. I want to have the potential client read my
information in comfort.<G>
