on email, and thus imagine I need not go anywhere near Google stuff. I
manage to mess things up pretty easily.  Thank you for your generous aid.

Les, I've added your sbcglobal.net account so it receives emails. Let
me know if that's not what you wanted. Your Gmail account is also
subscribed in Digest mode, but it sounds like you're only using that
account for web interface use.
