Privacy in the workplace

My immediate supervisor wanted me to use my personal time to work the
list server.
I insisted that that time is a learning and sharing time and that I
placed Rutgers on the map.  Since 8:00 a.m. was a very painful time of
the day for me I used that time to get my body up to speed for the day's
work.  I still think it was a valuable time spent 'on the job'.
