Hi- At St. Olaf I have an annual budget of $3,500 to use on parts and/or tools at my discretion, but not for travel or conventions. That would come out of a Professional Development fund controlled by the Dean. Larger purchases come from the Department's capital expense budget which is $50,000. We have about 180 total pianos, but this year I was given another budget of $3,000/ year to hire help with non-department pianos. This has reduced my service load to about 120 pianos. Last year we also become involved in the Yamaha program, which has been great. For us this has been a completely positive experience. Dennis Johnson St. Olaf College
