My recollection was that this took place in 1967 at Smith Music Hall at the
University of Illinois. The hurler was Mrs. Stanley Fletcher (wife of piano
faculty) in reaction to piano abuse by John Cage.  We should all compare
notes--maybe flying music stands have been used more than once to express
opinion. Are certain brands more effective than others?
