Yamaha problem

Hi Avery,

Several things come to mind with this problem, the first is
the felt in the retainer is worn and will have to be
removed. Simple enough to remove it and replace it, just
remember to lubricate it with some Protek.

Second is a loose hook. For this you will need to remove
the rob (carefully) and glue, braise or solder the hook
solidly in place. If the hook is broken you can go to the
hardware store with your micrometer and find a nail of
approximately the same size, make the 90 degree bend, cut
and do as above. Replace the rail (more carefully) by using
a six inch stick to press down the damper wires as you slide
it into place. Takes a little longer but it is not hard.

Lubricate the rod, lift felt and spring seats to prevent
speaks.
