Yes.  A friend of mine used to service Baldwins and Asian (this particular
time it was Kawai) grands in practice rooms side by side (at another
school) and he said the Asian grands suffered this condition worse than the
Baldwin grands just like my uprights here.

It was my friend who got me to noticing this "phenomenon?" several years
ago.  The Asian woods apparently are more porous than the American woods
and are more affected by humidity swings.  Happens with the soundboard too,
thus the difference in tuning stability.  Anybody done any REAL scientific
studies on this?
