Hi Avery, I have not done this with new aggraffes, but from what others such as Roger have encountered, I think I will. I do not like the abrassive cord, it wears out too quick. I am curious about cello string now, though the bike-shifter cable works fine, as promised. One thing about new aggraffes (these from Pianotek),is that the holes work out about 1mm higher than the originals. Although 1mm at the aggraffe has much less effect (on downbearing) than it would in the backlength, it's still worth taking into consideration. On the 'O' I am currently re-bellying, I installed new aggraffes at beginning, middle and end of sections, before setting the bearing. I also had an assistant buff the set of new agraffes and coat with clear lacquer. best regards, Mark -----Original Message----- From: owner-caut@ptg.org [mailto:owner-caut@ptg.org]On Behalf Of Avery Todd Sent: Friday, February 16, 2001 1:29 PM To: caut@ptg.org Subject: RE: Agraffe Pings Mark, Do you also do this when new agraffes are installed? That's the case in this particular piano of mine. New agraffes before stringing. Avery >I picked up a great tip on aggraffes from this lift.
