Yes, far enough so the thigh is unlikely to reach it, even with Jerry Lee
Lewis playing it, but close enough to hold the length of the fallboard
firmly.

Dear List,

I have installed these before, but am now wondering if there is a general
standard distance from the left side of the piano that some of you use as a
guide.

I'm looking at about 12" on a Steinway Concert Grand, right about where A1
is.  Does this seem fit in the ballpark for those of you who have also
installed them?
