I have to admit, I agree with Ron on this one. While in my very early developemental stages of learning this field, it was demonstrated to me that even the slightest tap on a wire will cause an indentation in the bridge..and I mean it was a slight tap. Yes, the string was under tension and at pitch. Up until that demonstration, I was tapping away to my hearts content, thinking I was doing someting good for the tone. Sometimes it would, and sometimes it wouldn't. This demonstration showed me I was potentially doing more long-term harm than short-term good. -Phil Bondi tito@philbondi.com
