    Okay, I will jump in here, against my better judgement...Just how =
dry do you=20
    want these dampers? I really believe there is a limit to how fast =
1-2" of=20
    felt can stop the vibrations of a long piece of music wire. Isn't =
some=20
    after-ring desirable? In harpsichords, especially in the bass, it =
was=20
    considered mandatory. I believe that some after-ring is okay, =
particularly=20
    if it's consistent. I know, I know, how much, you're asking? Be =
creative,=20
    use your sensitivity. This is where art and science blend. My two =
cents worth.=20

  Thanks Mary, for you input. I agree with your statement. But the =
problem isn't so much after ring, but the inconstancies between them. If =
B1 is shutting off in .5 second, and C2 takes 1.5 seconds to quite down, =
that is a big difference. And that is the problem. A little after ring =
on all the notes is a good thing. But a lot on some, and a little on =
others, is annoying. And that is the problem I am trying to solve.=20
