salary comparison was Re: Occupational Outlook Handbook

I was wondering about the survey results too in light of this thread....
If the results have been compiled I don't remember seeing them anywhere. Seems
like we should get this done before another effort. The survey results would
certainly shed some light on the salary averages.

I finally got my salary up to a living wage, but I had to take on an extra job
here to do it (managing our largest auditorium). This is now more like two
full time jobs now, maybe three!

It is a nice place to work though, and the benefits are a nice change from
self employment, not to mention working on mainly Steinway and M&H grands.
It's also nice not to have to come home to a slew of phone calls etc...

Another benefit is breaks (Christmas, Thanksgiving, Monday Holidays, Spring
Break, and three weeks paid in the summer). I've got a week off starting right
now for Spring Break, and the old paycheck -- such as it is -- will still be
coming in at full tilt at the end of the month. Breaks are my favorite part of
the job :).
